Mary graduated with a B.A. in Greek and Latin (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and with highest departmental honors) from UCLA in 2019. Her undergraduate thesis, “The Same Kind of Stars: Lucretian Principles in Heroides 16-21” explored the possibility of an intertextual relationship between Ovid’s Heroides 16-21 and Lucretius’ De Rerum Natura. Mary’s current research interests lie in Roman philosophy and poetry as well as in ancient medicine and psychology. She is particularly interested in intertextuality and the intersections between poetry, philosophy, and culture.
