Latin Major:

Preparation for the Major: 
  1. Classics 10
  2. Classics 20
  3. Latin 1
  4. Latin 2
  5. Latin 3
  6. Latin 20

Latin 16 (an eight-week summer intensive language courses) may be substituted for Latin 1, 2, and 3

Requirements for the Major: 
  1. Three upper division courses selected from: Classics M114A-185, History 112-116A)
    1. Courses in related fields not offered by the department may be substituted by petition and with the approval of the faculty undergraduate advisor.
  2. Six upper division courses selected from: Latin 100-109, 111-133
  3. Latin 110
  4. Classics 191

Students in the Greek, Latin, and Greek and Latin majors are permitted to take Greek 200A, 200B, 200C and Latin 200A, 200B, and 200C with consent of the instructor.

  1. Latin 2
  2. Latin 3
  3. Latin 20

  1. Two upper division courses selected from: Latin 100-187 (usually includes Latin 100)
  2. Three additional upper division courses selected from: Latin 100-187 or Classics M114A-185, History 112-116A
